TREVISO – The night buses on call in Treviso. You are ready to go. Mom will start the new one service on an experimental basis right after school ends (the last bell will ring on June 8th). This is a revolution. The first phase involves a transformation and an addition. On the one hand line 12, the Villorba circular route (Carità-San Sisto-Catena-Castrette-Carità), outside peak times it will become on-call, multiplying the number of stops. And on the other hand we will proceed with the activation, always on call, of a new service evening-night buses to Treviso, approximately after 8.30pm. Subsequently, the punctual system will also be extended to Vittorio Veneto. All with normal rates. Indeed, with incentives that are anything but trivial.

SERVICE

«The on-call service will start at the beginning of June, after school endson an experimental basis for the summer period – confirmation Giacomo Colladon, president of Mom – It will concern particular, well-defined areas, especially during off-peak hours.” That is, from 9.15am to 12.15pm and from 2.10pm until the end of the day. How will it work? Better to give an example on line 12 of Villorba. «In the on-call period, effectively 9 hours a day, there will no longer be fixed lines and times – underlines the president – the itineraries and times will be personalized based on bookings». This is the first fundamental point: you need to book. There will be two possibilities: either by calling the landline number made available by Mom or by doing everything through the new “Mom+” App. «People will be able to book their trip indicating the date, time, departure point and arrival point – specifies Colladon – not only with the current stops: the area of line 12, for example, has been enlarged and 66 have been planned (compared to the current 9, ed.), with linclusion of points of interest such as the Panorama, Benetton, the industrial area and so on”. You can book from 7 days up to 30 minutes before boarding. The “big brain” of Mom, an ad hoc IT platform, will take care of it put together requests by providing drivers with the itinerary and stops to be served. Passengers will receive the confirmation of the time via text message or on the App. Furthermore, they will be able to follow thearrival of the bus, thanks to GPS, on the maps of your smartphone.

THE PROJECT

The president of Mom presented the project to the Villorba city council. For the evening-night service in Treviso things will work in the exact same way. As for the rates, the real news is that they don’t change. The on-call bus will not cost more. Season ticket holders will be able to board as normal. While tickets will cost as per the price list approved last July: 2 euros for the urban ticket. «The normal rate of the urban ticket will be applied – confirms Colladon – and as a further facilitation, in the experimental phase, the ticket can also be purchased on board the vehicles at normal prices». Furthermore, as will initially happen with Villorba, the Municipalities will be assigned a certain number of tickets to manage according to their needs. Let’s start like this. For now, lines with a limited number of passengers are affected. Then we will see how the new service will be received.

THE TARGET

By making up for any empty trips, Mom is also ready to make more buses available to respond to all bookings. «It will not affect those who go to work because during peak times the normal hours are guaranteed – highlights the president – but let’s start by proposing a new, modern service, foreseen not only by the urban sustainable mobility plan but also in the technical proposal presented by Mom’s private partner at the time of the dual-object tender”. It’s about the Autoguidovie company, which controls 30% of Mom and which already manages some on-call services in Crema and Pavia, in the latter case also at night. «The new on-call service will be punctual and will allow you to reduce waste – concludes Colladon – but without reducing the trips, as some claimed: the area of line 12 will be significantly enlarged and the evening-night trips to Treviso will be additional to those guaranteed now. The hope is that the effort can be appreciated by everyone.”
