The single judge of Rome declared there was no place to proceed against Donatella Di Cesare, professor of philosophy at the Sapienza University of Rome, who was accused of defamation after a complaint lodged by the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida. For the judge the fact “does not constitute a crime”.
“Accusation of “neo-Hitlerianism”: the story in detail
At the center of the story is what was stated by the professor of theoretical philosophy at the Sapienza University of Rome during the episode of the Di Tuesday program on 18 April 2023: on that occasion, Di Cesare defined Lollobrigida as “neo-Hitlerian”. According to what was made known by the philosopher, everything revolves around the formula “ethnic substitution” that the minister pronounced at the Cisal congress, causing quite a stir. That same evening, in the La7 studios, Di Cesare stated that “Nazism was a project of ethnic remodeling of the people and the conspiracy myth of ethnic replacement is in the pages of Hitler’s Mein Kampf”. And she added: “I believe that the minister’s words cannot be taken for a slip, because he spoke as a Gauleiter, as a neo-Hitler governor.”
