Starting from Monday 1 April, the two ordinances aimed at improving the decorum and liveability in the area of ​​Piazza Baracca and Porta Adriana will be renewed. Both will remain in force until 31 October 2024. This was communicated by the Municipality of Ravenna.

The first ordinance provides, in the time slot between 6pm and 8am, for commercial, artisanal and public establishments, the ban on the sale of alcoholic or spirit drinks, even if carried out via vending machines. The ban does not apply in equipped areas belonging to public businesses or artisan businesses. It is also excluded from the sale of alcoholic and spirit drinks is prohibited which, due to quality, quantity, price and packaging methods, are not suitable for immediate consumption on the spot, but are clearly intended for later serving. Finally, the consumption of food and drinks on stairways, pavements and street furniture is prohibited.

The second ordinance instead provides for il ban on the consumption of food and drinks in general, supplied in glass bottles and cans, as well as the abandonment of glass bottles, cans and containers in order to avoid prejudice and damage to urban and environmental decorumas well as possible dangers to the safety and security of people.
Exceptions are permitted in conjunction with particular events of interest to citizens, subject to authorization from the mayor and after consulting the local police command.

The areas of application, for both ordinances, are viale Baracca after the intersection with via Oberdan, piazza Baracca, Porta Adriana and the initial stretch of via Maggiore, included between Porta Adriana and the ring roads via Fiume Montone Abbandonato and via San Gaetanino, and the initial stretch of via Cavour, between Porta Adriana and via Barbiani and via Fanti.

The financial penalties provided for by the first ordinance range from 150 to 450 euros, while those provided for by the second order range from 200 to 500 euros.
