The Lombardy Region allocates 175 million euros for productive investments for the competitiveness of agricultural companies. This was announced by the regional councilor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Alessandro Beduschi, announcing the opening of the SRD01 intervention of the 2023-2027 CAP.

EXPECTED MEASURE
“Due to its importance and economic capacity – declares councilor Beduschi – it is one of the most awaited measures by the sector, because it will be able to make precious resources available to our farmers, with the aim of a competitive and sustainable restructuring of their company assets” . The measure provides two phases for the submission of applications over the two-year period, with 110 million euros for 2024 and 65 million for 2025. Applications for the first phase can be submitted from 15 April to 9 September, using the regional SisCo platform.

FINANCED INTERVENTIONS
“Companies – continues councilor Beduschi – will be able to plan interventions such as the construction or renovation of agricultural buildings, for livestock effluent storage structures that improve existing ones, to build greenhouses, for the planting of tree crops and small fruits with the construction of irrigation and anti-hail systems”. “Furthermore – he continues – projects can be financed for the adaptation of systems, health and safety and for the safety of workers, for lines for the processing, conservation and direct sale of company products, for the purchase of machinery and equipment or for systems that improve the energy efficiency or allow the production of energy intended for company consumption”.

SIMPLIFICATION
The announcement updates the measure known in the previous programming as operation 4.1.01, starting from the experience gained and trying to improve the complex amount of bureaucratic burdens by simplifying some steps. For example, there is a reference price list for the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment which avoids the burden of acquiring comparison estimates. “Lombardy agricultural companies – concludes Alessandro Beduschi – want to invest to continue to compete and at the same time continue to produce quality food in an increasingly sustainable way. The Lombardy Region is at their side, focusing on innovation to enable them to guarantee all of us food and products of the highest quality”. (LNews)
