CREMONA – A daring chase this night by the police who intercepted and chased him of a stolen car. Around half past midnight, a patrol of the Radiomobile of Cremona, during the territorial control service, along the ring road, intercepted a car, with a person on board, which was found stolen the previous evening, ordering to stop.
Upon seeing the carabinieri, the driver accelerated to detach the patrol in order to escape control, fleeing along via Sesto and via Picenengo in the direction of Casanova del Morbasco. A chase ensued along the main road, with the car fleeing at high speed and dangerously traveling through the streets of the town. The car reached Cavatigozzi where it took the road to Spinadesco and here it traveled along various streets of the town centre, always at high speed.
On Via Po di Spinadesco, the fugitive pulled the brake by hand, got out of the vehicle and ran away through the surrounding countryside, favored by the darkness and vegetation. SheImmediate searches, even with the help of the Casalbuttano military patrol, did not allow the man to be traced. The vehicle was stolen in Cavatigozzi the evening before, around 8pm on Thursday from a man who had stopped at the ATM and left the car unlocked. Investigations are underway to trace the identity of the man who was driving the vehicle at the time of the chase and of the man who had committed the theft the previous evening.
