A new map to explore the city and its territory

Sassari opens up to visitors and its citizens with a new cultural and tourist initiative: the distribution of a detailed map of the city and its attractions, both natural and cultural. The publisher Carlo Delfino donated 10 thousand copies of this precious guide to the city that “welcomed him about seventy years ago”, with the aim of enhancing and promoting the historical and environmental heritage of Sassari. The presentation of the map took place today, March 29, during a press conference which saw the participation of the mayor Nanni Campus, the publisher Carlo Delfino and Guglielmo De Stasio representative of the Rotary Club Sassari.

This initiative celebrates the edition of the publisher’s thousandth title, born from the desire to discover the ninety hidden treasures in the town center and in the municipal area, testifying to the tourist vocation of Sassari. The map, designed to be easy to handle, features “Sassari Città Regia” on one side, illustrating the city center and the areas of greatest interest through numerical indications that refer to the names of the areas of interest. These are categorized into “Buildings of worship”, “Ecclesiastical buildings”, “Historical monuments”, “Private buildings”, “Public buildings” and “Museums and exhibition halls”.

On the other side, “Sassari the municipal territory”, the places of cultural and naturalistic interest present in the territory are indicated, accompanied by a legend to facilitate understanding. The map also includes short descriptions in Italian and English. Mayor Nanni Campus expressed great appreciation for the gift received, underlining the usefulness of this tool not only for visitors but also for the people of Sassari, inviting everyone to discover and love more and more the beauties and treasures of the city. This map represents an open window on the wonders of Sassari, offering everyone the opportunity to explore its riches with a new awareness and curiosity.
