In recent days the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rovigo have carried out an extraordinary control service of a large part of Polesine, mainly in the evening/night hours, aimed primarily at the prevention and repression of crimes against property, the control of road traffic as well as places and premises frequented by people addicted to the consumption of narcotic substances and the abuse of alcoholic beverages.
“During the service – in which in addition to the normal patrols aimed at ensuring daily surveillance of the territory, a further thirteen military vehicles were used with twenty-six Carabinieri from the Radiomobile Units and the Stations of the three companies of Rovigo, Adria and Castelmassa – checks were carried out 12 public businesses, the positions of 13 people subjected to obligations/restrictions on personal freedom were verified, numerous checkpoints were carried out, which they overall led to the verification of 56 vehicles and the identification of 98 peoplewith 9 administrative sanctions detected”, confirms the press release from the Carabinieri.
“At the end of the activities, nineteen people were released into a state of freedom, of which:
ten motorists for “driving under the influence of alcohol”, with proven blood alcohol levels between 1.10 g/l and 2.18 g/l. For all, nine men and one woman aged between 20 and 74, the withdrawal of the driving document for subsequent suspension was triggered, in one case the car was seized for subsequent confiscation;
four non-EU citizens for “illegal entry or stay in the national territory”, traced, subjected to photo-signaling checks and sent to the competent foreigners office of the PS Authority for expulsion measures;
two motorists for “material falsity in certificates and administrative authorisations”, connected with the possession of driving documents, shown during road traffic checks, which turned out to be false;
a convicted felon for “receiving stolen goods” since, without a driving license, he was checked while driving a motor vehicle with a worn chassis, the man was also sanctioned (with vehicle impounded) for driving without a license and lack of insurance coverage;
a person convicted for “violation of the mandatory exit permit” from the municipality of Polesella, from which he had been removed by order of the PS Authority and where he was checked again;
a convicted felon for “threatening”, aoccurred during a degenerate discussion and was immediately quelled by the military personnel who intervened”.
In the fight against narcotic substances, five people were reported to the PS Authority – pursuant to art. 75 Presidential Decree 309/90 and as drug users – found in possession of narcotic substances allegedly intended for personal use, with the overall seizure of 17 grams of hashish, 11 grams of Marijuana and 5 grams of Cocaine.
