It returns to bring the general public closer to the design “Inediti in wood. A glimpse between architecture and design, from the post-war period to the end of the century”, the exhibition promoted by the Bergamo Architects Foundation, the Tino Sana Carpenter Museum and the collective of companies united in “Wood from Nature to Things”. It displays the work of 13 contemporary architects and designers from Bergamo through the exhibition of 21 furnishing objects designed by them during the twentieth century, created by the 32 companies of the wood supply chain participating in the project. Chairs, bookcases, parapets, stairs, tables, cupboards, mirrors and elements of furniture resulting from the talent of Baran Ciagà, Sergio Invernizzi, Edoardo Milesi, Attilio Pizzigoni, Myria Cassader, Cesare Rota Nodari, Guglielmo Clivati, Pino Pizzigoni, Lucio Agazzi, Vito Sonzogni, Nestio Sacchi and Francesco Ginoulhiac and Teresa Arslan, designed and created for private interiors and exteriors, are reproduced starting from existing objects, prototypes or archive drawings, becoming still current design works that testify to the versatility of wood. The works on display are the result of a call launched at the end of December 2021 by the Foundation Bergamo Architects in collaboration with the Order of Architects, Landscape Planners and Conservators of Bergamo, who set up and promoted the invitation to take part in this project in which 42 object proposals participated.Entertainment “The way of talent. A first setup aims to convey the circularity of wood, enhancing the connection between wood and nature with a composition of 24 trunks arranged in 4 rows in which the processing phases are summarized, from the sawmill to the sustainable management of the tree, which is always replanted. Next to the show dedicated to the design of Bergamo architects, a third area is dedicated to productions of the Il Legno dalla Natura alle Cose supply chain, through the stories, tales and objects that companies in the Bergamo area create with experience and skill. Closes the area dedicated to laboratories inspired by the path undertaken by the students of the School of Wood and Technologies, who in the space of a few years will reconstruct the wooden plane from the First World War currently exhibited at the Tino Sana Carpenter Museum. “I believe that we have added a further challenge to those already won in 2022 with the collective of companies participating in the Il Legno dalla Natura alle Cose event” states the president of the Bergamo Architects Foundation Gianpaolo Gritti. We have managed to bring the world of design closer to that of production, to bring companies to deal with design works designed in the past according to design principles different from the current ones and we have managed to bring designers back to the comparison with the production world of our territory. Today we bring all these experiences to the general public. We also achieved this goal, which at first glance seemed impossible, together”. “For us it is an important opportunity to introduce wood, a natural and eco-sustainable material, to an increasingly wider audience” explains Guido Sana, from Il Legno dalla Natura alle CoseCompanies that work with wood have passed down their know-how for generations, without ever ceasing to innovate and look to the future. Wood tells stories, preserves the past, speaks to young people, encouraging them to approach a world in which technologies, passion and tradition come together, opening new perspectives for tomorrow”. OrioCenter over the years it has become an increasingly active entity in offering a wide audience unique and immersive initiatives that can bring visitors closer to art, design and culture. “It is an honor for us to host an important initiative like La Meraviglia del Legno. For years, Oriocenter has been involved in cultural and artistic activities and initiatives that give our visitors the opportunity to take part in immersive experiences that go beyond mere shopping. Furthermore, in this particular case, we are even more proud to put our galleries at the service of an excellence of the Bergamo area and to admire these spectacular creations up close” he claims Ruggero Pizzagalli, Director of OrioCenter. “THE WONDER OF WOOD.
