Olio di Capaci also becomes Olio Santo in Vicenza
Yesterday morning, with a relay that started from Capaci, the journey of the oil from the Garden of Memory, which arose in Capaci after the massacre involving Judge Falcone and some of his escort agents, ended.
The Agents of the Vicenza Police Headquarters concluded the relay by bringing the oil to the Police Headquarters and, with the Chaplain of the State Police Don Giampietro Paoli, delivered to the diocese of Vicenza a vial containing the oil produced with the olive trees planted in the Capaci crater, where the mafia massacre took place which 31 years ago led to the death of judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the escort agents.
The olive grove is located behind the monument commemorating the massacre. The symbolic gesture was wanted by the State Police and the Quarto Savona 15 Association (radio theme song of the service car in which Judge Falcone was travelling).
The donated oil will be used on the occasion of the Chrism Mass, which Bishop Brugnotto will celebrate in the Cathedral of Vicenza today.
“The Capaci oil – explains the diocese of Vicenza – will be added to the other oils, which the Bishop will bless and consecrate so that it becomes the holy oil with which the priests, during the year, will anoint the children at baptisms, the elderly and the sick with the anointing of the sick and with which the bishop himself will anoint the foreheads of young people in confirmations and the hands of candidates for the priesthood”.
