The CEI has appointed Irene Sanesi among the members of the Presidency of the national committee of Synodal path. Bursar of the Diocese of Prato for ten years, Sanesi is an accountant and expert in cultural economics. She was asked to coordinate one of the five commissions into which the committee’s work was divided: the one dedicated to “the change of structures”.
«I am very grateful to the CEI for the trust it has placed in me and to Bishop Giovanni Nerbini for having supported and encouraged such an important commitment within the Italian Church – states Irene Sanesi –, my task will be to propose and develop together with other members of the commission new governance models, inspired by a vision of Church-community in mission”.
The bishop of Prato Giovanni Nerbini expresses satisfaction for an appointment that directly involves a representative of the diocesan community: «For Irene, a top-level recognition has arrived, in which she is asked to put at the service of the Church the human and professional skills and qualities that she has demonstrated have in these ten years of commitment within our Diocese.”
