Thieves ransack the tavern in the La Mora district of Foligno, also taking the kebabs

Two thefts in the Cantine del Gelso in the space of just five days. This is when it happened in the Mora district of Foligno. During both robberies, the thieves managed to take away kebabs, oil, wine, liqueurs and cured meats. The first theft probably occurred in the night between last Sunday and Monday. The strangers entered the Gelso tavern, forcing a door that opens onto an alley behind via Pertichetti. Once inside, they looted the kebabs and other meats preserved in the neighborhood freezer, and then escape with the loot. During the leak, some traces were found along the surrounding alleys, including some kebabs that had fallen to the ground. The discovery was made by two residents of the neighborhood, who noticed the door of the tavern open while passing by the area on Monday morning. The question arose whether the thieves had finished their heist or whether Monday’s raid had just been a reconnaissance to evaluate the potential loot.

On the Friday following Monday’s episode, around 6pm, another resident of the neighborhood went to via Pertichetti to check if anyone had returned to visit the tavern. Unfortunately, she discovered that the kitchen door was open, the lights were on and the front door on via Pertichetti it was broken. It was evident that the thieves had opened their way from there. In addition to several open dressers, a sign that the thieves had searched for valuables, the freezer had been opened. Right there, the resident found a still fresh roast, suggesting that the thieves had not passed long before or that they had been interrupted by the woman’s arrival. Despite the time that had passed, they still managed to escape with other kebabs, liqueurs, bottles of wine, cans of oil and cured meats stored in the refrigerator.

The police intervened on the spot Friday and the La Mora district will file a complaint in the next few days, in the hope of identifying the responsible and put an end to this series of thefts that have affected the local community.
