The “Cemetery Police Regulation” was presented to the commission: “greater efficiency and clarity in services” declares Councilor Monica Picca

“For the drafting of the document, integrated and modified compared to the previous one in force since 2014, the new health provisions were taken into consideration and we developed it by filling the regulatory absences detected during the daily management of relations with users. – underlined the Councilor for Social Services and Cemeteries, Monica Picca, present at the Commission. – the Regulation is still being finalized, but during the next commission we will be able to define the guidelines. These are not simple changes, but a substantial reform that will resolve the critical issues linked to the functioning of cemetery services. – he continued – In particular, Art. 5, draws attention to the correct terminology to be used when requesting services since, very often, disputes and conflicts arise from a misinterpretation of definitions such as: coffin, body, bone remains, entire grave, inhumation, etc. The use of correct words will be of great help to the administration which will gain greater potential in responding to user requests, dealing with technical terminologies that are not in common use.”

The “Cemetery Police Regulation” was proposed and discussed by the Cemeteries Commission, dedicated to the municipal structures of Fiumicino (Via Portuense) and Palidoro.

Article 6, exposed during the Commission, refers to the transparency of the documents made available to the public and establishes that: “The register of burials and any other document are kept at the cemetery offices, available to anyone who may be interested in them.” knowledge of which is deemed appropriate for interested parties or for the public.

The responsibilities within the cemetery structures, the precautions and the authorizations for the burial, the assignment and the dispersion of the ashes were, however, the topics covered respectively in articles 7 – 8 and 9.

The last point, inserted by the new provisions, is Art. 10 which lists which cemetery services are free and which are paid ones, available to users.
