The Rossoneri Primavera 3 achieved salvation on the pitch of the Deste Stadium in Carrara where the final result of 1-0 in favor of the home team in the second leg of the play-off was not enough to overturn the 6-0 of the first leg. Di Stefano’s boys, thanks to the outburst of pride in which they were protagonists in the last two matches, can therefore breathe a sigh of relief at the end of this complex and painful season. After a strong yellow-blue start in which the locals came close to advantage on a couple of occasions, in the 36th minute Lucchese becomes dangerous with Riad who, after a good serve from Leone and from a good position, shoots high. Carrarese tries to push but in the 38th minute Summa does well to deflect Pinna’s header into a corner, while shortly after Bernabé’s turn from the edge ends just wide. At the end of the first half the Rossoneri showed up with Leone who, taking advantage of an error by the defence, started on a counterattack and concluded finding himself blocked by the opposing goalkeeper. In the second half, coach Di Stefano threw Unniemi and Lo Guzzo into the fray in place of Leone and Babacar. In the 60th minute Carrarese found the advantage with Nardini who, alone in the area, intervened on a rebound to reiterate the goal. Lucchese, in which Scarselli and Toma also found space in the final minutes, still managed to maintain concentration so as not to grant their opponent any further opportunities and to snatch the much-hoped-for salvation.
