“Our fight was not in vain. We had raised the alarm about the risks of a measure that included the dune cordons in state concessions. Risks averted with the repeal of that article which effectively re-established a principle, that according to which the protection of the landscape cannot be entrusted to private individuals”. “We are perfectly aware – continues the note – that the conservation of the dunes at the expense of municipal budgets represents an issue to be addressed, but we are equally convinced of what a progressive impoverishment of significant elements of the environment would represent. We renew our availability, as the Order of Architects, Landscape Planners and Conservationists, to offer our contribution to define the most appropriate measures for the protection of the environment in accordance with the law. We are ready to collaborate, offering our technical support, with the control room of the interested municipalities requested by Anci. We cannot fail to underline how the battle on the dunes is added to another battle that saw us on the front line and on which the council made an about-face a few weeks ago: the reintroduction of double building compliance in the law on renovations. Two results that put the issue of the opportunity of preventive listening to technical professions in matters of urban planning and landscape protection at the center in order to protect territories and safeguard a very important heritage in terms of natural beauty”.
