The positive thing about the afternoon at the Allianz Stadium is that we are approaching the end of the season. For the rest, the first match point regarding the Champions League failed. Or maybe not. If Roma were to lose in Naples the discussion would be arithmetically closed, otherwise only one point is missing. A victory in Turin would have avoided calculations, but then again if you don’t get a shot on target it’s impossible.
Yet, despite such a performance, and despite this Juventus being, results in hand, one of the worst in recent years, Stefano Pioli even defined the first half as “very good”, appreciating the desire to overturn his team’s result. This brings to a close a month of April to forget.
Closing the championship in the best possible way is the final request of the coach, who despite the superficial declarations: “I haven’t read anything in a long time” already knows he will lead the team for another four games and that’s it. The fans’ hope was only one: to respond to this disappointment with a strong name for the bench. Napoli did it and made the fans forget about Sarri by immediately announcing Ancelotti. Lazio did it by announcing Sarri after Simone Inzaghi’s mocking farewell. Roma did it in the only way possible, calling De Rossi to calm the fans after Mourinho’s farewell. To the question posed to the CEO about how much the will of the fans will influence the club’s choices, Furlani dribbled by limiting himself to talking about the desire to work to have a winning Milan. The impression is that supporters may be disappointed.
