There Grandmother hospitalized and unable to watch TV, she intervenes Mandrake and a group of friends to donate a television to the Geriatrics department of the Perrino hospital Toasts; an initiative that was well received and which will be followed up. Grandma Ncettathe elderly woman famous on social media for playing Giuseppe Ninno’s grandmother, aka Mandrake, is hospitalized in hospital, in the geriatrics department of the Brindisi hospital and, stuck in her bed, expressed the desire to be able to watch television to make the time that expands in the hospital pass faster. It’s a shame that the Geriatrics department is not equipped with televisions.

The gift to the hospitalized grandmother

It was her “grandson” Giuseppe who intervened to ensure a more comfortable stay for grandmother Ncetta, thanks also to the help of some friends. In fact, Nico Partecipa, deputy mayor of the municipality of Torre Santa Susanna and administrative employee of the ASL, also made himself available with him. Both determined to provide the lady with a television, they also turned to the Torre association “Together with us” and, with self-taxation, purchased a television equipped with an antenna because the department also lacks the appropriate system.

In a short time grandmother Ncetta was able to have the television available and the protagonists received applause from the general director of the ASL: “The strategic management of the ASL Brindisi thanks Giuseppe Ninno, aka “Mandrake”, the members of the “Together with us” club and the deputy mayor of Torre Santa Susanna Nico Partecipa for the donation of televisions to be installed in the rooms of the Geriatrics department of the Perrino hospital. «Patients – declares the general director of the ASL, Maurizio De Nuccio – will certainly be happy to have a TV in their room. We know that entertainment programs are a comfort for the elderly who spend several hours a day in front of the screen even when they are not hospitalized.

During hospitalization, moments of leisure and escape become fundamental for patients and for this we sincerely thank Mandrake and Nico Partecipa for their generosity, with the commitment to install the TVs as soon as possible and to monitor their functioning”. Yes, because the initiative continues with the purchase of other televisions, thanks also to the contributions of financiers who, having learned of grandmother Ncetta’s story, made themselves available to equip the department with the simplest of comforts.
«Solidarity initiatives – commented Nico Partecipa – have never been lacking at the Perrino hospital and, especially in view of the holidays, many are sending goods, especially consumables, to the patients, but to the Geriatrics department as well as to other departments in which the users are mainly elderly, few people think about it. Thanks to Mandrake’s appeal accepted by me and my country’s association, we saw first-hand the need to take care of them too, it doesn’t take much; we are working to equip every room with a television and to place them in such a way as to be accessible to all patients.” Mandrake also showed enthusiasm and satisfaction in his video for the result achieved and for those to come.
