Brescia-Iseo-Edolo, the service returns to normal from 30 March

From Saturday 30 March the Brescia Iseo-Edolo railway line will be fully accessible again, with 28 trains a day arriving from the city at the Camunian terminus, without routes covered by replacement buses. In Marone, Ferrovienord has in fact completed the work to secure the tracks damaged by the accident on 21 September 2023, which cost the life of the Pisogne truck driver Marco Frassi: his truck, falling from the provincial road, hit the sleepers and ended up on the cycle-pedestrian path Toline fleece.

Until yesterday, the company that manages the railway line worked to reinforce the retaining wall of the tracks, which are now considered safe again. 851 days have passed since trains ran regularly between Brescia and Edolo: it was November 30, 2021. The following day a landslide threatened to derail a train in Cedegolo: as soon as the construction of the rockfall tunnel was completed, the accident occurred in Marone. Already in July 2022 the flooding of the Niardo torrents had torn up the tracks, forcing Trenord to resort to replacement buses.
