The presentation of the volume “Benvenuto Crispoldi. Writings. Art Politics Culture”, curated by Stelvio Catena, president of the scientific committee of the project “Benvenuto Crispoldi between art and revolution”. The event will be held at 5.30 pm in the Messalina room of Palazzo Trinci and will see the participation of, in addition to the curator of the work, also the sociologist Roberto Segatori. One hundred years after the artist’s death, the city of Foligno, as well as those of Spello, Magione and Bastia Umbra, dedicated an exhibition to Benvenuto Crispoldi which collects his original sketches and drawings, but also the documents and photographs of era. Also hosted at Palazzo Trinci, it will be open to visitors until April 7th. In Foligno Benvenuto Crispoldi created an important cycle of wall decorations in the wedding hall, which was lost during the bombings of the Second World War. Only a part remained visible to the public, along the corridor on the reception floor of the municipal building. On display there are, among other things, the documents relating to the assignment of the Municipality of Foligno to Crispoldi for the cycle of wall decorations. Crispoldi was a multifaceted artist – ranging from painting to sculpture – as well as a politician (mayor of Spello and socialist militant), often also defined as a revolutionary.
