First stop of ‘Food in Tour’ by Confindustria Cuneo at Torroneria Sebaste [FOTO E VIDEO] – Lavocedialba.it

With exceptional guidance, the CEO Matteo Rossi Sebaste, This morning, March 28th, the visit to the factory where the famous nougats with hazelnuts are produced took place in the factories of the Antica Torroneria Sebaste – Golicità dal 1885, as part of the first stage of ‘Food on Tour – Alla discovery of Cuneo’s agri-food companiesan initiative promoted by Confindustria Cuneo and described by the general director Giuliana Cirio:

“It’s about encouraging meetings between Cuneo companies that operate in the agri-food sector, a sector of great importance for our economy. Each of the six meetings we have planned will allow entrepreneurs to discuss and share experiences and good practices”.

Giuliana Cirio, like the president of Confindustria Cuneo, Mariano Costamagna they also put their “hands in the dough” during the interesting visit to the Sebaste laboratories, working the hot nougat, ready for the subsequent processing phases, after over 6 hours of cooking in a bain-marie and mixing honey, sugar, egg white and glucose started the previous evening.

“We don’t work much differently than we did in my grandfather’s time” – has explained Matteo Rossi Sebaste“We focus a lot on the quality of the raw materials, on the attention to the mixtures and the toasting of the hazelnuts, which we carry out with the Scirocco method, to optimize them based on the type of nougat that will be made”.

The experts who evaluate the exact roasting of the hazelnuts every day and prepare products with a perfect recipe are extraordinary, and the story of this family told by Mrs. Egle Sebaste:

“It all started with my great-grandfather Giuseppe, born in the year of the unification of Italy and continued with my grandfather Oscar: we owe a lot to them. Today it is my children Lucia and Matteo who carry on this activity of ours and it is they who wanted to give the family and the territory a work of art at the Belvedere di Pepè, created by the artist Samuel Di Blasi. Just think that the elderly people of Grinzane stop me on the street and are happy, they tell me that it is beautiful and significant.”

The participants in this first stage of Food in Tour then reached the installation, located a few kilometers from the company, in a natural and panoramic amphitheater, in which the vineyard and hazelnut grove are reflected, the two symbols of a territory that has been able make them appreciated and known to the world.

The director Giuliana Cirio finally presented the Award ‘I invest in culture’ conceived by the Culture and Events Section of Confindustria Cuneo, which will valorise projects in three categories: projects falling within the cultural sphere created by companies (Culture for Business), cultural projects created thanks to collaborations and/or sponsorships between companies and cultural institutions (Together for Culture) and cultural projects supported by companies thanks to Art Bonus or calls for tenders (Calls and Art Bonuses). The awards are scheduled for autumn 2024.

The next stops of ‘Food in Tour’ will be on 12 April at Agrimontana SpA in Borgo San Dalmazzo, on 21 May at San Bernardo SpA in Garessio, and in the following months in the companies Società Agricola Beppino Occelli ss in Pamparato, Nutkao srl in Canove di Govone, Maina Panettoni in Fossano and Ferrero Alimenti SpA also in Fossano.
