“Once again the logic of pulverizing resources has prevailed rather than that of their finalization towards the creation of two or three priority works capable of promoting the development of the Region. The La Scaletta cultural club has always thought that the Development and Cohesion Funds could be the right opportunity to start the construction of the Murgia-Pollino median connection in the sections where the technical-economic feasibility study already exists. However, we must note with disappointment that the adaptation of the State Road 7 Matera-Basentana remains without funding even in spite of a motion voted unanimously by the Regional Council which committed the Council to giving priority to interventions for the construction of the infrastructure. A work capable of ensuring not only road safety but also of curbing the dramatic problem of the areas internal to the Region.
We are aware of the many emergencies that must be faced to respond to the needs of the Lucanian area but the logic of pleasing everyone without actually solving anyone’s problems can no longer continue to be the solution. For this reason in the next few days we will ask to meet the candidates for the presidency of the Region to have a discussion on the priorities of their possible future government and to discuss their intentions regarding Healthcare, Infrastructure and Work and above all on the fate of this Region that records devastating phenomena of depopulation and youth emigration.
It is also our intention to reiterate the need for greater attention to the territory of the city of Matera and its province, starting from small signs. In this regard, we would like to point out to those who have enthusiastically welcomed the establishment of a headquarters, practically detached and on trial for only one year, of the Lucana Film Commission in the premises of the House of Emerging Technologies that the LFC should be established and operate in Matera by Statute , since its foundation, and which instead continues to work and employ personnel in other places.
We believe, once the complex phase of defining the alignments and candidatures has been completed, that it is finally necessary to address the real issues of the electoral campaign to give voters the necessary information to allow them to make a choice based on the programs and commitments (on which La Scaletta intends to have constant attention) that they intend to take for the government of Basilicata.
