Viterbo – Three people in handcuffs and under house arrest. Four reported, including one minor. This is the very heavy toll of Friday afternoon’s maxirissa at the Shrine. Wild west minutes, which caused a general stampede among passers-by, residents, families and tourists who were in one of the main squares of the city.

According to what has been reconstructed so far, everything would have arisen from a quarrel between two families, then the very violent turn of events. A 46-year-old, in a white Audi, tried to run over a 33-year-old of Afghan nationality. Hence, the reaction. Aggressive, violent, punching, kicking and hitting the roof and windows of the car and hitting other people with a baseball bat.

Thanks to the immediate intervention of the Carabinieri and the police, two Italians aged 35 and 46 and a 33-year-old of Afghan nationality, all criminals, ended up in handcuffs. They have been under house arrest since Friday evening: they have been charged with aggravated brawling. A tougher position for the 46-year-old, who also has to answer for attempted murder for trying to run over his “rival”.

Tomorrow morning they will have to appear before the investigating judge for the validation hearing: they will have the opportunity to reconstruct what happened by providing their version of events. While investigations by the police continue to “reconstruct – explain the investigators – the dynamics of the criminal event, also through the acquisition of testimonies and the viewing of the images recorded by the video surveillance cameras present”.
