The night of Bari it doesn’t happen anymore. The red and whites also lose Cosenza, in the direct clash for salvation, and remain at stake. Now the ranking is dramatic and says direct relegation zone, without even the appeal of the playouts.
The match was seriously affected by the disastrous start of Di Cesare and his teammates, down by a goal already in the 5th minute (Tutino’s goal), due to chronic defensive amnesia. The Calabrian double came in the 17th minute with Tutino and the Apulians were only two goals down – without Diaw. Puscas and Maiello – advanced the center of gravity thanks to the good initiative of Benali and Maita, hitting the post with Sibilli and closing the distance with Nasti one minute before the break. In the second half Bari pushed with determination and came close to equalizing after 3′ with Nasti. Then the match became nervous, full of yellows and with a very broken rhythm.
When Giampaolo’s eleven had to propose the final forcing, the expulsion of the substitute Bellomo left the team with ten men and Cosenza closed the accounts by signing a poker thanks to a long-range free kick by Calò and a goal by Forte. The Apulians are now third from last in the table, a position which at the end of the season would mean direct relegation: on Wednesday there is the opportunity for redemption at the San Nicola, against league leaders Parma.
