It would seem that the mystery about Sanremo cannot find its solution. We’ve been talking about it for almost two months, that is, since Amadeus clearly said that he would not host the festival for the sixth year in a row.
Many important names on the small screen have already backed out. According to TV experts, few would like to take the risk of taking on a similar challenge and trying to repeat the success achieved by Amadeus. At the moment the only one who would accept would be Alessandro Cattelan, to whom Rai could apply what has already been renamed the “caregiver method”, i.e. alongside him with other more experienced and popular hosts to avoid a debacle.
Then there are others, such as Gigi D’Alessio and Morgan, who continue to reiterate their availability but without receiving concrete feedback from the top levels of the public company. And finally there is him, the one the public would really want: Stefano De Martino.
The presenter, now far from being known only as a former dancer on Amici or Belen’s ex-husband, has managed to build a more than respected path on TV and many are betting that he will be the most visible new face of Rai. In a recent interview by TV Smiles and Songs, the host addressed the topic of Sanremo, reiterating his full esteem for Amadeus. He picked up the baton from him when it came to leading”Tonight anything is possible”, but he doesn’t feel like doing the same for the festival. Here are her words:
“I inherited the legacy of “Tonight everything is possible” from Amadeus, who had thirty years of career behind him that I’m missing (laughs, Ed.). He did an Oscar-worthy job. He brought the Festival back to an excellent condition giving it an incredible shine. It is certainly an experience that I would like to have in the future, but I have to dedicate myself to projects that can last over time. To use a metaphor: Sanremo is the graduation, I am enrolled in the first year of the Faculty of TV”.
What will Rai’s decision be?
What will Rai’s solution be? Having established that Amadeus will not change his mind and having obtained his signature on the next expiring contract, at the moment the most accredited hypothesis is that Carlo Conti will return to command. In reality he had already said no but, according to the latest rumors published by Dagospia, Rai may have found a way to convince him. Will it really be like this?
