SAN DONÀ – Her daughter dies three days later. It is a pain that adds to other pain, the one that hit Campalto, who yesterday morning, in the church of San Benedetto, gave her last farewell to Loredana Corona, who died in the night between last Monday and Tuesday, at the Angelo di Mestre, following a road accident that occurred in Musile di Piave and which was apparently caused by an illness that struck her while she was driving. Her elderly mother also died on Friday. A cruel fate, theirs: Loredana, in fact, was going to the retirement home to visit her when the accident happened.
THE HOSPITALITY
Yesterday morning, at the last farewell of Loredana, who was 57 years old, the community clung even more affectionately to the family, due to the two deaths that struck her. The mother, Domenica Loddo, was 83 years old; left without her husband, due to his new conditions, the family with their children Loredana and Giovanni, had decided to rely on a specialized structure, finding support in the “Giardini del Piave” residence for the elderly, the new structure built in via Masina (side in via Calnova, near the Fellini Park), recently built. A friendly woman, with a way of doing things from times gone by, with her innate kindness, as they remind Campalto, since she was at the San Donato retirement home, her family members never failed to be close to her, always going to visit her. As Loredana had decided to do on Monday afternoon.
THE ACCIDENT
Cold, rainy day, with always heavy traffic on the Triestina, towards San Donà. A few hundred meters from Musile’s Ponte della Vittoria, his Fiat Panda skidded, invading the oncoming lane, just as a Toyota Yaris was coming; the impact was violent and ended up involving a third car, a Chevrolet SUV, which hit the two cars stopped in the middle of the road. The two drivers of the cars involved suffered minor injuries, while those of Loredana were of concern, first taken to the “Città del Piave” in San Donà and then to the Angelo in Mestre, where she died during the night. Among the hypotheses of her death was the same illness that had somehow determined the sudden change in direction of her Panda.
Employee of a well-known credit institution, in the Favaro branch, the woman leaves behind her husband Paolo Cacciatori and her two children, Lisa and Pierluigi. “It is a drama that adds to the tragedy and further increases the pain – commented Marco Bellato, president of Municipal Favaro – for which words are lacking, if not closeness to the family”. Mrs. Domenica’s funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 10 am, in the San Benedetto church in Campalto, the same one that yesterday welcomed the coffin of her daughter for her final farewell. And once again the community is called to give a sign of closeness in this difficult moment of intense pain.
