Turin Public Space, cleaning and care of the greenery in the Arrivore park
Descriptive text here

In recent days, an ecological community initiative took place in the Arrivore park, carried out by volunteers from Torino Spazio Pubblico and a group of Iveco employees, whose headquarters are located a short distance from the green area.

The volunteers’ activity was concentrated in particular in the pond area, where a meticulous collection of paper and waste was carried out and steps were taken to reduce the infesting shrubs and brambles, with the aim of improving access to a area of great naturalistic value within the park.

An active citizenship project for the care of green spaces, Torino Spazio Pubblico was born in 2013, based in the offices of the City’s Green and Parks Division, with the aim of raising the standard of essential interventions already guaranteed by the public administration. Since its launch it has involved over 2100 citizens in more than 160 green areas. Currently, around 300 volunteers actively participate every week, dedicating themselves to cleaning and carrying out small maintenance interventions on the greenery and street furniture in 40 areas of the city, including parks, gardens, small flowerbeds and residual green areas. Numerous third sector entities collaborate on the project, which is also inclusive of people with disabilities, immigrants recently arriving in Italy or individuals subject to alternative measures to penalties.
