Antonio Gengaro is the candidate of the Democratic Party without ifs or buts, doubting this is foolish because the opposite would not make sense. The path that led to his choice was not simple and I understand that it may generate doubts or uncertainties but intelligent and careful reflection cannot lead to the conspiracy conclusions that some interested readings suggest in recent days.
We worked hard to overcome the misunderstandings and some bad moods but the labor was not as painful as we want to describe it and, above all, it ended in the best possible way.
The best answer will be the list that the Democratic Party presents and which will see candidates representing profiles of professions, commerce, entrepreneurship, craftsmanship and the youth world. A team that will also have the advantage of representing all the different areas of the city and above all will be able to represent it and interpret its needs and expectations.
The Democratic Party is certainly not holding back, at a time of great difficulty for the cityfor all of what is happening and what has already happened, and which our party has not hesitated to denounce to a community that is partly distracted, partly colluded and largely disinterested. He will not give up on reawakening the civic sense, the passion and the duty of every citizen to take care of their community in their city.
In this I am sure that Antonio Gengaro will be able to reawaken this dormant feeling of belonging, he will certainly know how embody that hope of rebirth and redemption that lives in every Avellino and he will do it with that passion and that “garra” that we have known and appreciated for many years. It will be very tiring and demanding to heal the wounds that have been inflicted on this city, but we need to overcome this climate of perennial conflict that has characterized public life in the last five years.
The city today needs projects, ideas, to recover hope and regain a horizon. The climate of continuous witch hunts does not help and less than ever will it help the division into good and bad, pure and impure, no one deserves the mark of infamy, least of all, however, no one is allowed to arrogate to themselves the power to put these brand names.
Let’s try to recover the meaning of politics, let’s try to resume the thread of dialogue, comparison and, let’s try to put together ideas and proposals, above all let’s try to rediscover the sense of community and let’s go back to being hard-working and concrete like our fathers were.
