There is no peace for the connections with the Val di Bisenzio. This morning, train traffic between Prato and Vernio was suspended as a precaution around 10.30am. The decision was taken following a landslide of debris on the mountain that runs alongside the railway, which had already been affected by a landslide on November 2nd. Initially, the collapse of a portion of the railway shoulder near the town of Usella was also reported. RFI technicians and the municipal police of the Val di Bisenzio unit went to the scene and ruled out dangers for railway traffic. Inconvenience for commuters is inevitable. The passengers on the train departing from Prato central at 10.40am and heading to Vernio were made to get off at the Prato station and only after more than an hour did it become clear that they could take the next train, the 12.10pm one, which it left regularly.

Precisely today, from 2 pm, the long-awaited reopening is scheduled – albeit with an alternating one-way route – of sr 325 in the Camino area, closed since March 1st due to a landslide.
