tragedia in the waters of Giglio Island, where the 36-year-old Raffaele Gulmanelli, a resident of the Imola area and a spearfishing enthusiast, lost his life. The tragedy occurred on the evening of Friday 26 April.
According to what was reported by the local media, the autopsy will clarify exactly what happened, the body is available to the Grosseto Prosecutor’s Office, at the San Giovanni di Dio hospital in Orbetello.
Gulmanelli he had been working at the SerD in Imola for about two and a half years (Pathological Addictions Service) as a social worker. In mourning his passing, the Imola Local Health Authority remembers him “for his professionalism and kind and sociable character, which also made him popular with patients, as well as for his passion for the sea, known to all”.
Also Imolamare, a company that organizes courses for divers, has joined in the family’s condolences: «You had recently joined Imolamare and immediately your enthusiasm and desire to do won us over – we read in a message posted on social media -. We are shocked by what happened right there, on the Giglio Island that you loved so much, doing what you liked most: freediving.”
