“Palermo, ‘horror’ starts, finals as leaders. The second halves are a curse and a delight”, headlines the Sicilian newspaper.

If you make a hypothetical Serie B ranking based on the minutes played, you can see how the Rosanero team is among the worst teams in the second division coming out of the break. From 45′ to 60′ of the second half, in fact, Palermo occupied 16th position in the standings, therefore being one of the worst in the entire junior series. Only Cosenza, Cittadella, Spezia and Lecco were worse than Brunori and his companions.

Palermo, in fact, scored 4 goals in the first quarter of an hour of the second half but conceded 9: the worst defense of the first 15 minutes of the second half only after Lecco (13) and Spezia (10). Making small efforts of memory, just go back a few days to what was probably the game that marked the negative turning point of Palermo’s season: the away match against Cremona.

To counteract this negative streak, however, there is the entire second part of the recovery. In the segment that goes from the 61st minute to the end of the match, therefore practically in the last half hour, Palermo is the best team in Serie B, even more than Parma. There are 27 goals that the Rosanero have managed to score in the last thirty minutes of each match, three more than Venezia and even seven more than Parma. A trend that grows further by limiting the analysis to the last 15 minutes (plus injury time), useful for Palermo to score 19 goals, defeating the competition.
