In recent months there has been a lot of talk about new “educations” which should enter schools as new subjects, such asnutritional, sentimental and financial education. Given that we need to somehow modify it teaching current situation, is there really a need and, above all, time to do this?

Or rather strengthen and renew the subjects that are currently studied, first of all the history and geography? We really have to start from teaching and give them matter teach or are there more urgent issues what should be done to improve the school? Tell us yours.

Tell the Minister: propose your innovative idea for the school

The Italian school system is continually targeted by criticism coming not only from the world of education, but also from public opinion. School Technique would like to subvert this accumulation of controversy and convert it into something edifying and useful for the community through innovative proposals and concrete: it therefore intends to collect them and send them to the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara. The same will be examined and sent on the occasion of the 75 years of work of the specialized magazine: a newspaper, first in paper and now online, which has always been next to the readers – mainly teachers, Ata and school managers – and their needs, always giving them the opportunity to participate personally in the discussion on the world of school, highlighting its critical issues and more.

Here, then, is the format for our readers “Tell that to the Minister”: to participate it will be necessary send a proposal which is considered “innovative” or in any case useful to somehow improve the functioning of the Italian school system.

The intention is to avoid drawing up a “platform” with a purely trade union flavor: this would not fall within the remit of our newspaper. Moreover, there are already other entities (unions and movements) that carry out this task much better than us.

The proposals may therefore concern the school organisation, the methods of managing the relationships between teachers and students, the relationships between the different subjects (teachers, managers, students, families, etc.). And precisely in this context we also want to remember the 50 years of the delegated decrees, the famous five regulatory acts which they changed the face of Italian schools: while maintaining their relevance, in light of the social changes of recent decades, would they need a structural review?

Not to be overlooked is the great theme of the relationship between the school and the territory which gives the various subjects dealing with educational issues the opportunity to discuss and collaborate.

The proposals may be inspired by activities or initiatives that are already implemented in some context, but which are believed to be able to be extended and generalized.

How to participate

It is appropriate that the proposal is formulated according to this scheme:

– Aims and objectives;

– Synthetic description;

– School order(s) to which the proposal is addressed;

– Subjects involved (teachers, students, parents, associations, etc.).

The file must not exceed 3,000 characters (including spaces) and be sent by April 30, 2024.

To participate you will need to fill out the form and choose between the various major themessuch as the not always easy school-family relationship, the salaries that are really too low, the excess of bureaucracy that often engulfs the main mission of the school, the excess of precarious employment, the problems of recruitment, security and more.
