We receive and publish the content of a reader, a citizen of Molfetta, who returns to the highly topical topic that is dividing the city quite a bit: the issue regarding the pine trees uprooted from Via Don Minzoni.
Below is the citizen’s writing.
“The city is asking itself, again.
No, not the city, just some, the most unnecessarily sensitive to plant life. To the breath of the trees. Which is our breath. Now, there will be technical reasons, and it is not up to us to evaluate their reasonableness.
However, how can we deny the sense of loss, of emptiness, of destruction. Because a tree is not just a tree, it is a world. Especially in spring. Imagine dozens and dozens of trees. There for decades. Rich in life, nests, scents. .
Today the distribution of that world… of those worlds began.
A tree doesn’t grow in a day. But it falls apart in an instant. It grows in silence but falls moaning. And afterwards, an expanse of uprooted trunks.
We continue tomorrow.
Ps
The photo depicts the first of the pine trees on the avenue, clearly out of line with the others because it was certainly pre-existing, therefore very ancient, spared from elimination when the avenue was designed decades ago.
