CIVITAVECCHIA – The three-year tender for the assignment of the Civitavecchia summer festival – an event that brought big names like Achille Lauro, Geolier, Silvestri, Lazza, Brignano and many others to the city – leaves some doubts and the Five Star Movement attacks Palazzo del Pincio.
DOUBTS ABOUT THE SCORING FOR THE FREE TICKETS
«We are deeply perplexed – thunder from the M5S – by the publication of the notice relating to the “Summer Festival”. The winner of the tender will have to organize at least 13 shows and there are several points that leave some doubts, first and foremost certainly the assignment of 5 points for the “freebies”. In fact, as stated in the tender documentation published on the Cuc Castelli della Sapienza portal, the minimum number of free passes “for places reserved for institutions” must be at least 30 and the more rooms the number of tickets the greater the score obtainable for this point up to 55 free entries which provide 5 points.
THE OTHER ISSUES RAISED
There are also some doubts about the “artistic proposal” which will have to be presented all together for the three years, how is it possible in a constantly evolving world like that of entertainment to predict how and how much a ticket or the fee of an artist with 3 years in advance? Just think of some cases like Lazza and Geolier who, after performing on the Marina stage, took part in the Sanremo Festival with fees that tripled and more. “Fixed” costs for tickets are also established, such as the 4,000 estimated at 80 euros each for an “international artist”. All this compared to the 57 thousand euros per year that the administration will put in from its own pocket while for the organizers quite appetizing earnings estimates are given with, however, clearly specified below that these are estimates and that the concessionaire does not assume responsibility in case of loss of earnings. There are also doubts about the 20 thousand euros estimated for Siae and similar, a number that varies based on ticketing, and about the “romantic” concert themed LOVE CIVITAVECCHIA. Then there is the coexistence announced with fairs and stalls. In short, rather binding tender terms and perhaps calculated with a little too much enthusiasm and you only need to carefully read the cards to realize that perhaps everything should have been structured more calmly. Not to mention the fact that the race will end on April 10th and we are close to summer again.
«Moreover – conclude the Five Star Movement -, it is even more serious that the notice was published two months before the elections, which will inevitably influence the next administration that will have to govern this city. It is a further affront to the city, culture and professionalism.”
