Ex-Ila park, Brumana’s ten proposals

Among many, the name change

Legnano – Woods and meadows are a common good and should be treated as such with care and respect. The Ex-Ila park it is one of the green lungs of the city of Legnano and, after analyzing its past on the occasion of its centenary (Click here to read the article), now it’s time to look to tomorrow. The future of the ex-Ila Park will be officially presented to the public on 6 April (9pm) at the Spazio Incontro Canazza in via Colombes 69.

Among the speakers there will be councillors Lorena Fedeli And Marco Bianchi (respectively with the delegation to “Future City” and “Beautiful and Functional City”), in addition to the technicians of the offices in charge. They will be presented during the meetings the projects that will affect the ex-Ila Park and the Solariums.

While waiting for the conference, there was no shortage of proposals from those who, for years, have taken the situation of the city’s green area to heart. The first of these suggestions is the change of name from “Parco ex-Ila” to “Historic Sanitary Park”. With this gesture, Franco Brumana (city councilor and author of the proposals addressed to the councillors) wants to underline the historical, artistic and cultural importance of the structure. Also for these reasons, according to the city councilor, it is necessary review the regulation of the Park.

Another proposal is that of eliminate any subdivision inside the Park, so as to make it a single unit that can be used together with the historic buildings. Just as Brumana also invites to restore internal routes of the green area. It will also be necessary an in-depth studyespecially with regard to tree species (Click here to read the article).

As a historic park, no new recreational or sports facilities should be built. “It is necessary to promote citizens’ interest in the Sanatorium Park by organizing, for example guided toursperhaps inserted in educational and tourist routes that they also understand places and monuments of landscape, environmental and cultural interest in the city”, continues Brumana, who does not rule out a information-refreshment point hosted in one of the existing structures.

Officially, the Ex-Ila park is defined as “historic”. In fact, it is the object of interest of the collaboration between the Municipality of Legnano and theRegis association which, in fact, deals with historic gardens throughout Italy. The agreement was renewed afFebruary 2024 with the new statute of the association.
