Descriptive text here

“Fresi talks about Senna” And a monologue on the life of Ayrton Senna told by Stefano Fresi which will be staged and filmed for a TV special directly on the straight of the Enzo e Dino Ferrari racetrack in Imola, at the height of the tower. The floor has been transformed into an audience and a selected audience of young people born after 1994 will contribute to creating an atmosphere full of emotions.

Exceptionally, for the first time in thirty years, Ayrton’s Williams F16 will return to the position it was in the day the last lap of the life of the greatest driver in history started. Pitch number one in Imola, pole position.

In the recording, the evocative atmosphere will be enriched by the exclusive projection on the circuit tower of images showing Senna in the minutes before the start. They are images on which pages and pages of ink have been written and which for the first time will be shown in their entirety and the photographs of Angelo Orsi, Ayrton’s close friend.

Telling (and listening to) Senna right from there, from the point where he left for the last time and never returned, will certainly be something very powerful, in an event also supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region.

On the evening of May 1st at 9pm the show will be open to the public and will be held in the Ebe Stignani municipal theater (via Verdi 1).

On stage, Fresi will be accompanied by a five-piece band and a singer. The show has free admission and must be booked online via the website www.ayrton-senna.it.

Losing Senna

The text of the monologue is taken from the book “Losing Senna” by the director and writer Giorgio J. Squarcia, released in bookstores on May 21st by the PaperFirst publishing house, which inaugurates the new “Pop” series; the book is enriched by unpublished contributions by Stefano Fresi, Cesare Cremonini, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Linus, Daniele Massaro, Alessandro Costacurta, Leo Turrini, Adriano Panatta, Paolo Barilla, Andrea Bocelli, Rocco Benetton, Giampaolo Dallara, Massimo Zanetti, Evaristo Beccalossi , Stefano Domenicali, Silvia Colombo.

It is a story of redemption and motivation that spans the decade 1984-1994 of the Brazilian driver’s life, from his first to his last race in Formula 1. It is the parallel path of Senna and a very young Italian boy, the narrator. The first struggling with the obstacles of the races, the other with the problems of a difficult life. At the time of Ayrton’s first race, the narrator is only 13 years old and his destiny is sealed. Looking at Senna, he finds the strength to overcome difficulties and the courage to never give up. The monologue tells, in fact, the greatness of the pilot but also, and above all, of the man, not only through his legendary victories but also and above all through his defeats.
