The other night an earthquake of magnitude 2.4 was felt at 3.47 by residents in the Campi Flegrei area, in the neighborhoods of Agnano and Bagnoli, in Naples and in the neighboring municipalities, between Pozzuoli and Bacoli as part of a seismic swarm characterized by around fifty tremors but all of low intensity, never exceeding 1.4 magnitude.
The power and epicenter of this morning’s tremor meant that it was also felt in Procida and Ischia. On the island of Arturo in particular, the seismic event linked to bradyseism was perceived by many inhabitants, so much so that the island’s mayor Dino Ambrosino, a few hours later, wanted to reassure his fellow citizens through personal and municipal social channels: “This morning at 5.45 we also felt the earthquake throughout Procida. It woke us up with a prolonged movement lasting several seconds. At the moment there is no damage reported on the island” was the message from the mayor of Procida. In Ischia the effects of the shock were decidedly less powerful although there was no shortage of reports from those who felt it, especially on the northern side of the island.

The mayors of Pozzuoli, Gigi Manzoni, and Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, call for calm after concerns about the strong earthquake which woke up many residents of the Campi Flegrei but also many in Naples. “This morning’s shock was strong. As happens on these occasions we immediately took action with the Civil Protection volunteers and the Municipal Police.
At the moment there are no reports of damage, for any reports you can use the numbers of the Operations Center of the Municipal Police: 081/8551891 and those of the Civil Protection: 081/18894400″, says Manzoni. The mayor of Bacoli, for his part, explains: “It was very strong. We’ve all heard it. And many were afraid. Magnitude 3.9. 5.44am.
