“It is shocking that in 2024, in a country like Italy, there are still situations in which one must choose between the right to work and personal health,” Fedez declared during a press conference for an initiative in favor of the community of Taranto, promoted together with Codacons, its well-known antagonist. “It would be interesting – he added – to start a debate and see if part of the Pnrr funds could be allocated to the redevelopment of the former Ilva”. He then expressed his opinion: “in my opinion the necessary investments have not been made”.

After years of legal battles and polemical exchanges on social media, the rapper and Codacons have decided to resolve their dispute and come together to bring attention to this problem that needs a solution and visibility”, explained Fedez. The main theme of the conference was the health and environmental emergency that has long afflicted the people of Taranto due to emissions from the steelworks. “Our idea is to exploit the media coverage of our meeting to fight together,” said Fedez.

At the end of the meeting, a journalist asked Fedez about a donation made in 2019 for children with neonatal oncological problems. “They try to discredit every charitable activity by looking for the slightest flaw,” replied the singer, “Unfortunately for those who behave like this, it is not possible to find anything,” she concluded.
