Harry takes a step back “so as not to embarrass William”: the decision

The affairs of the British royal family are always in the spotlight, especially in this period. The health conditions of King Charles and Princess Kate, in fact, are a cause for concern. The Dukes of Sussex, then, after their great exit from the scene, always remain figures that arouse curiosity. Prince Harry will not go to the most social wedding of the year so as not to embarrass his brother William, who will instead be present at the wedding of the Prince of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor. A gentlemen’s agreement, one could define, between the two sons of King Charles, who have not spoken to each other for months. Harry has in fact decided to stay away from the wedding of one of his closest friends, to prevent his feud with William from overshadowing the event. The wedding will be the high society event of the year and has given rise to much speculation as to who between Harry and William would receive an invitation to attend.

The Times reports that among the expected attendees are members of the Van Cutsem family, close to the Windsors and linked to the Grosvenors by marriage: Hugh’s sister, Lady Tamara, married Edward van Cutsem at the same venue in 2004. Other attendees include there will be Lady Zoe Warren, the aristocratic yoga guru and youngest daughter of the 14th Earl of Galloway, and her husband, Jake Warren, godson of Princess Diana and son of Queen Elizabeth II’s racing manager, John Warren.

Apart from William and George, it looks like there will be few royals, with Princess of Wales Kate, as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla not attending the event. William’s wife, in fact, will not participate, while she continues chemotherapy. Charles, who is Hugh’s godfather, is also still recovering from cancer treatment. Chester is expected to see thousands of people flock to the event, as did Hugh’s sister’s wedding, where around 4,000 people lined the streets. Those who go to the city will be able to treat themselves this time to a treat: the duke is said to have paid three independent businesses to distribute free ice cream on the day of the wedding.
