A few days before the vote for the European elections, the announcement from the government arrived new social card “Dedicated to you”which will be renewed and valid from September 500 Euros (40 euros more than the previous expected amount of 460 euros). This is an economic support measure aimed at families with a low income and dependent children. Let’s find out in detail who is entitled to it and what changes will be in force after the summer.

For the new social card valid, usable for the purchase of food and more, the government has allocated 676 million, 500 euros per card, with an increase of 40 euros compared to the last edition. Furthermore, there will be 30 thousand more beneficiaries, reaching a total audience of 1,330,000, as underlined by the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida at the presentation at Palazzo Chigi.
The ministerial decree launching the measure was signed on June 4, Lollobrigida said: “All beneficiaries they will have the paper available by September”. New purchasing categories have also been added such as PDO and PGI products, frozen vegetables, baked goods, tuna and canned meat.
Who is it for?
The criteria for identifying the beneficiaries of the social card “Dedicated to you” remain unchanged, families residing in Italy of at least 3 people and with an ISEE of less than 15,000 euros, without other social inclusion contributions or poverty support, will be able to benefit. The Municipalities will communicate to the families identified, based on the verification of the INPS lists, informing them on how to collect the cards at the post offices.
There Card dedicated to you, therefore, it is not up to families that include recipients of an inclusion allowance, citizen’s income, purchasing card, and any other social inclusion or poverty support measure that provides for the provision of an economic subsidy (at a national, regional or municipal). The support is not even available to households in which at least one member receives unemployment, mobility or redundancy benefits.
How to request it
There card dedicated to you it cannot be requested directly. The beneficiaries of the social card, in fact, are identified by the INPS and the Municipalities, who communicate to interested parties the assignment of the benefit and the methods for collecting the cards at all post offices. To carry out the withdrawal it is necessary to present the communication, a valid identity document and tax code.
How to use it
Through an ad hoc agreement, before the entry into force of the social card (in September 2024), individual commercial establishments and trade associations will be identified which will offer discounts on the costs of food goods in favor of card holders. Specific discounts may be also offers offers on pump prices.
