Andrea was unable to react to this news and turned his anger onto food: his eating disorders resulted in severe obesity and the boy had to resort to surgery.
Palombelli was keen to underline how the torment of what she learned was precisely the torment push the boy towards compulsive binges at night. Andrea’s situation is not isolated: there are many kids who, unable to process a trauma, then find themselves having to manage an eating disorder.
