Robert De Niro’s harsh statements about Donald Trump have once again broken public opinion. The Italian-American actor he accused the tycoon of wanting to destroy the worldall while the former president was convicted at the Stormy Daniels trial.
The reaction from Trump supporters was not long in coming. After holding some demonstrations in favor of the New York native entrepreneur, his supporters lashed out at Robert De Niro, accusing him of making rubbish films. But De Niro’s problems don’t end there.
The Oscar-winning actor, who was supposed to attend the NAB Leadership Foundation’s ‘Service to America Awards’ to receive recognition for his social commitment, suddenly saw cancel your invitation. The news was launched byHuffington Post and then resumed byIndependent.
In an official statement from NAB, the organizers said:
“The Service to America Awards honor the local journalism and public service that local TV and radio provide to their communities […] This event is proudly bipartisan and brings together people of all political persuasions to celebrate the important work of local broadcasters and our partners“, we read in the statement. Which then continues:
“While we support the right of every American to exercise free speech and participate in civic engagement, it is clear that Mr. De Niro’s latest activities they would have drawn attention away from the philanthropic work we hoped to recognize. To maintain focus on the service of this award recipients, Mr. De Niro will no longer take part in the ceremony“.
