Just under a month from the start of the tour around the United States, with the first date scheduled for June 26th in Orlando, Florida, Jennifer Lopez has announced the cancellation of her entire tour in support of the album This Is Me… Now. The reason? The need to spend more time with his family.

Jennifer Lopez cancels 2024 tour

The announcement of Jennifer Lopez it arrived yesterday, Friday 31 May 2024, almost silently. No communication on Instagram, but a handful of lines in the pop star’s newsletter, without any real reason given to fans: “I am completely saddened and devastated for having disappointed you. Please know that I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t feel it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you.” and that we will all be together again. I love you so much.

The task of providing some more details fell to LiveNation. In confirming the start of refund procedures for tickets already sold for the 30 dates initially scheduled between the United States and Canada, the tour promoter specified that “Jennifer will take time to spend with her children, her family and her closest friends.”

Ben Affleck divorce rumors

Faced with this surprise announcement, when everything was almost ready for the first date of the tour, the gossip inevitably exploded for two reasons. On the one hand, the rumors of a profound marital crisis between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have become more insistent in recent weeks and the fact that in the brief note there is no mention of the Hollywood star was seen by fans of the pop star and actress as a hint that a divorce may be on the horizon.

The flop of the tour

On the other hand, however, there would be a purely economic motivation. One month after the start of the tour This Is Me… Live ticket sales would have been so disappointing that the artist realized he had bitten off more than he could chew. There were already hints of a poor response from the public to Jennifer Lopez’s new tour immediately after the announcement, when the much hoped for rush to grab tickets had not happened.

As the weeks went by, the situation did not improve, also thanks to this the not too affordable ticket pricesand faced with the prospect of performing to half-empty stadiums, Lopez and his staff reportedly decided to abort the project within weeks of its debut at the Kia Center in Orlando.
