What are your best-selling pieces and what kind of interest is there in online purchases?
«Online there is interest mainly for mini stimulators, small, colourful, very playful, simple to use and ideal for those approaching the world of sex toys for the first time. Then, there is Caesar, G-spot stimulator: simple, linear, very elegant, appreciated precisely for its shape. Still in the testing phase, there is the Aphrodite necklace, decorated with a bullet, which we will launch in Italy in four color baths: Silver, Silver Gold, Rose Gold, and Black Metal, as the first collection of Twilo sex jewels. We presented the prototype of Aphrodite in preview and it was especially liked by boys aged 20 to 27 and by men in general, because it is very impactful: a chain imagined precisely to clear the idea that a man can also wear a sex toy ».

Augustus, Caesar, Titus, Aphrodite… Why these names?
«The idea was to give names linked to the world of ancient Greece and Rome, names of great leaders, emperors, goddesses. We wanted to give the idea of ​​something strong, important, epic, that makes you feel good. Right now, we are also creating an App, with the help of a technology company from Potenza to set up functions that will allow some products to be used remotely. When you use them with a person, the App will allow you to talk to each other, look at each other, send reactions and generally share that moment in a more pleasant and passionate way.”

What is the strength of Twilo products compared to other sex toys on the market?
«We are a company that designs and engineers each product and this allows us to create innovative and different devices both in design and use. By having resources that work only and exclusively on this, we are able to create exclusive products. Furthermore, we have the possibility of modifying and customizing them thanks to the work of our engineers and designers.”

How was a women’s business project aimed at the world of sexuality received in Potenza and its surroundings?
«The reactions were not entirely positive. Unfortunately, when a woman makes these entrepreneurial choices, she has to come up against many cultural legacies. There are still those who think that – even though you create products and do Research and Development with designer engineers – you are always dealing with something that has to do with the world of pornography. They think that those who work in this area do not do so with seriousness and professionalism, when in reality it is a company that is doing business like all the others and with products that are normal pleasure devices.”

How do you address these biases?
«Instead of remaining stable in Potenza, we also decided to move to Taranto, in Puglia, where we had an excellent welcome: people were very interested in the products and we organized presentation events which were a great success . They came to meet us, they looked, they bought, they wanted to talk about sexuality. In general, we have seen a truly different approach compared to other regions – such as Campania or Basilicata – where it is complicated to speak and spread word of mouth, because everyone feels ashamed and embarrassed to address certain topics.”
