New Amazon center in Jesi: when it opens

Amazon has announced a major hiring plan linked to the opening of a new distribution center that will be built in Jesi, province of Ancona: the inauguration of the new center is scheduled for the spring of 2025.

The new logistics center will extend over an area of ​​240 thousand square meters and represents the 11th Amazon distribution center in Italy. The e-commerce giant is ready to offer at least 1,000 jobs.

The figures required for the Amazon Jesi hub

The new figures that Amazon will be employed in the Jesi hub on a permanent basis, covering more than 60 different roles, among which:

• logistics operators
• warehouse workers
• financial managers
• IT specialists
• engineers and robotics experts.

Which figures are already being sought

At the moment only one announcement has appeared on Amazon’s official website regarding job offers for the Jesi hub. In particular, the giant of Jeff Bezos is already selecting a Site Procurement Manager/Site Procurement Operations. The headquarters for this role will be Jesi, but the new hire will in the meantime be based at the San Salvo hub (Chieti) until the new headquarters opens.

Role

The new role will be responsible for leading and implementing strategic sourcing projects for Amazon’s internal business partners, at local, regional, national and European levels. As the Site Procurement Manager, you will work in a team environment with internal Amazon stakeholders, various procurement colleagues, and external suppliers.

Requirements

As for the requirements to apply, here are those mandatory minimums:

• Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Procurement or Supply Chain or significant experience in the procurement sector
• Relevant experience in a procurement environment
• in-depth knowledge of MS Office
• qualifications and/or experience in sourcing, contract management or an equivalent role
• internal and external negotiation skills
• contract management skills
• excellent knowledge of English and Italian, spoken and written.

Then there are others preferential requirements:

• degree with focus on Purchasing or Supply Chain
• Experience working in a large, global and highly diverse organisation
• if there is no procurement degree (or higher degree), CIPS/EIPM accreditation or equivalent functional knowledge or accreditation
• ERP experience (SAP/Coupa)
• ability to manage multiple complex, simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, analysis methodology, and problem-solving skills
  strong motivation and customer focus
• management of relationships with suppliers
• analytical and problem-solving competence, ability to identify complex problems, develop and provide solutions
• ability to effectively manage stakeholders across multiple business functions, sites, regions and business units.
