The bonus relief for domestic charging stations in 2024 provides that for the purchase and installation of new factory charging stations, of standard power (less than 22 kW), intended for the charging of electric vehicles by domestic users, a contribution equal to 80% of the purchase and installation price is recognized. This incentive can reach a maximum of 1,500 euros per natural person resident in Italy who requests it. In the case of installations on common parts of condominium buildingsthe spending limit rises to 8 thousand euros. Only one application per beneficiary is allowed in order to obtain the benefit.

The contribution is specifically intended for the purchase of new factory infrastructures, of standard power, installed in Italy and intended exclusively for the use of the beneficiaries. Infrastructure must be installed according to best practices and must be accompanied by a declaration of conformity.

In 2022 and 2023, the financing for the domestic charging station bonus was 40 million euros for each year. However, in 2024, the financial envelope will be reduced to 20 million euros.

The reimbursement of the contribution will take place in a single solution by crediting the current account indicated at the time of submitting the application.

Who can request the Bonus

These incentives are intended exclusively for natural persons resident in Italy and condominiums. THE Owners of individual businesses and companies are not eligible for the bonus. For businesses and public administrations, the column bonus was opened in March and the deadline for sending the application is June 20th, to receive a contribution of up to 40% of the purchase and installation costs.

It is important to note that the contribution is intended for the purchase and installation of the charging infrastructure: the purchase of the equipment alone is not sufficient to request the bonus.

Once installed, home charging infrastructures benefiting from the bonus must be used exclusively for private use and not be accessible to the public. Even in the case of condominiums, the columns must be intended for the collective use of the condominiums and not accessible to the general public.

The single national platform arrives

Meanwhile, Italy still proves to be a country that wants to expand its network of electric charging stations: in recent days the single national platform to identify them.

The new portal will give motorists the opportunity to orient themselves through the electric car charging network, with information from the status of the station to the manager. By the end of the year, the site will also be accompanied by an application for mobile devices, which will help owners of electric cars during travel.
