The new car incentives are arriving, ecobonus 2024 by May

The Made in Italy Business Minister Adolfo Urso has announced that the Ecobonus 2024 for the purchase of electric and low-emission cars. Here’s how the incentives will work and what the value of the contribution will be.

Ecobonus 2024 for new cars starting, incentives by May

The Minister of Made in Italy Business Adolfo Urso, speaking at the inaugural conference of the Motor Valley Fest in Modena, declared that the long-awaited Ecobonus 2024 for the purchase of electric and low-emission carsis now on its way.

After several postponements – Minister Urso assured – the Ecobonus 2024 should start at the end of the month. However, the conditional remains mandatory, given that previously there had been talk of the first days of May. However, it seems that this time, the many motorists who are anxiously awaiting the 2024 car incentives to replace their cars can count on a date.

In fact, as the head of the former Mise declared, the Prime Ministerial Decree has finally left Palazzo Chigi and should be active by the end of the month, after validation by the Court of Auditors. This – added Minister Urso – is a fundamental step that will require a maximum of one monthto validate the new system and the allocation of resources.

Ecobonus 2024, what incentives?

To finance the transition from old polluting cars to electric cars and low CO2 emission vehicles, the Government has allocated 950 million euros. Of these approximately 240 million will be allocated to the purchase or leasing of cars with emissions of up to 20 grams of CO2 per kilometre, while 140 million have been allocated for those who purchase plug-in hybrid cars, with CO2/km ranging from 21 to 60 grams. The most substantial part, more than 40% of the total contribution – equal to approximately 402 million – will instead be allocated to those who purchase a combustion engine or full hybrid vehiclewith an impact of 61-135 grams CO2/km.

They will instead be intended for the owners of Taxi 20 million, with the possibility of doubling the incentives if they decide to purchase an electric car. Another 20 million will be allocated for used cars, to which must be added 53 million for commercial vehicles, 50 for long-term rental, 10 million for the installation of LPG and methane systems on cars, as well as a fund for motorcycles, scooters, tricycles and quadricycles.

Motorists will be able to count on a contribution which – without scrapping – is provided from a minimum of 4,000 euros in the 21-60 grams of CO2 per km range to a maximum of 6,000 in the 0-20 emissions range. However, there is no bonus in the 61-135 grams CO2/km category.

In case of vehicle to be scrappedthe contribution increases, depending on the category of the abandoned car:

  • with a class 5 eurosyou can get 8,000 euros of ecobonus for electric cars and 5,000 euros for plug-in hybrids
  • a medium Euro 4, it is worth an incentive of 9,000 euros for the purchase of a car in the 0-20 emissions range, 5,500 euros in the 21-60 range and 1,500 euros in the 61-135 range.
  • a Euro 3provides respectively 10,000, 6,000 and 2,000 euros.
  • with the scrapping of vehicles Euro 0, 1 or 2, incentives of 11,000, 8,000 euros and 3,000 euros are provided respectively

More substantial ecobonus with low ISEE income

Those in possession of a low ISEE certificate will be able to obtain more substantial incentives. The plan developed by the Government provides for a 25% increase in the incentive for the individual members of a company family unit with ISEE less than 30,000 euros.

These motorists will be able to count on a Ecobonus 2024 increasedwhich will cover up to a maximum of 13,500 euros for the purchase of an electric car with the scrapping of the old car.
