With the “Digital Twin” Brescia wins the “Forum PA Color PA Award 2024”

Brescia. The Municipality of Brescia was awarded the “FORUM PA Color PA Award 2024!” in the PA Vicina category awarded on Thursday 23 May at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome during the L’Arena di Forum PA event “Governing and guiding innovation: the role of the PA in a changing world.”
The project of the Municipality of Brescia that won the award in the Nearby PA category is “Brescia Digi.T”. The project, which favorably impressed the award jury, provides for the development of Digital Twina virtual model of the city reality built starting from data and 3D mapping of the city, which will allow the urban context to be analyzed from different perspectives.
It will be a functional tool for programming and planning interventions in the urban context, allowing the evaluation of any impacts and guiding the evolution of the territory and the entire city ecosystem, in order to improve and make the decision-making process more efficient. Furthermore, the platform will allow us to continue on the path of attracting the city as a tourist destination, enhancing access to cultural experiences as well as activating simulations of scenarios related to potential crisis events.

The councilor with responsibility for Social and Economic Innovation and Digital Transition Andrea Poli accepted the award at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome: «This recognition confirms the quality of the Digital Twin project that our mayor strongly wanted and initiated and which today is in the full implementation phase. Brescia is a complex city and to be governed in the best possible way it is essential to have tools capable of bringing citizens closer to the decision-making process and sharing with them and with economic operators enabling tools capable of interconnecting phenomena that have a different nature, but which have an enormous impact in the lives of Brescians” commented the councilor.

«Aggregating, reading and analyzing the thousands of data that we produce every day is no longer essential for an Administration that wants to plan the future of the city in the best possible way. By the end of the summer we will complete the validation of the data relating to the first 3D survey of our city carried out on the section of the future T3 tram line; if the validation is successful we will proceed with the definitive assignment to complete the mapping of the entire city by 2025, the year in which the integration of our partners’ data and the installation of intelligence sensors in strategic points of our city will also be completed. Furthermore, by the end of the year we will complete the integration of the data collected into the control dashboard and will be able to publish the first results. Thanks to the political foresight demonstrated and thanks to the contribution of the Digital Transition Sector of the Municipality of Brescia led by DG Marco Baccaglioni and Engineer Piscopo, today Brescia would not rank among the European excellences in this area; my heartfelt thanks go to them.”
