Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 7.00 pm at Milan Triennial (viale Alemagna 16, Milan) the book presentation is held Giobatta Meneguzzo: I had so much fun! Of Francesca Interlenghi; the designer and teacher will be present together with the author Stephen Myrtles e Damiano Gullìcurator for Contemporary Art and Public Program of the Milan Triennale.
The glorious adventure of. begins in Malo, near Vicenza Giobatta Meneguzzo (Priabona, 1928 – Malo, 2021). A surveyor by profession, he made his debut by participating in the process of renewing the urban centre of his town. With his first earnings he devoted himself to collection of art books and then to collection of contemporary art works. In 1969, based on a design by Gio Ponti and with interiors by Nanda Vigo, he created his futuristic home The beetle under the leaf. In 1978 the Casabianca Museumexhibiting to the public the largest collection of contemporary art graphics from the 1960s and 1990s.
The book traces the contours of a a visionary man thirsty for modernity, tenaciously anchored to its peasant origins, but animated by inexhaustible curiosity. An anthropologist of the present who, understanding his collection as a chronology of phenomena of the spirit of the time, restores the art customs of one of the most fruitful eras in Italian history.
