CANA CANAVESE

The second edition of the literary review Libri in Chiesa, organized by the Ami Ecomuseo, will debut on Sunday 30 June, at 6pm, with the aim of providing authors, books and publishers, linked in various ways to the territory, with the opportunity to present themselves to the public in the churches participating in the Romanesque churches circuit of the morainic amphitheater of Ivrea.

First appointment, therefore, this Sunday, in Candia Canavese, at the Priory of Santo Stefano del Monte, with Carla Boggio who will present her book Lungo il Canale di Caluso, published by the Atene del Canavese publishing house. «Along the Caluso Canal – explain the presentation notes released by the publisher – it outlines a path between past and present for those who love walking, cycling or horseback riding to discover and rediscover a part of the Canavese territory, almost guided from the waters of this ancient Canal. Born in the sixteenth century as an irrigation water canal at the behest of Marshal de Brissac, Marquis of Caluso, it contains, along its 28 kilometer route, an important artistic and landscape heritage. A silent story, therefore, accompanied by the lapping of water and a picturesque landscape that offers different emotions depending on the seasons, colors and scents that envelop it.”

The initiative, with free admission, was created thanks to the collaboration of Edizioni Pedrini, Atene del Canavese, Associazione Amici della Chiesa di Santo Stefano del Monte and the municipalities of Chiaverano, Bollengo, Scarmagno, Ivrea, Val di Chy and Burolo. The basic idea is to propose cultural events in architecturally significant places. The church will be open starting at 3:00 p.m.
