“After the exciting first edition last year (with guests of the caliber of Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, Davide Rondoni and Sister Anna Monia Alfieri), the cultural event ‘A sea of books’ returns from Wednesday 3 July – presents Leonardo Tosoni, organizer together with councilor Marco Tombolini -. We wanted to repeat the adventure with the intention of receiving cultural ‘oxygen’ from the meetings that will be proposed. The event will open with a voice of peace and awareness, that of the historian Franco Cardini (Rocca Tiepolo, 3 July, 9.15 pm), who will present his latest book “The drift of the West”.

The psychologist Luca Pieti (Piazza Matteotti, July 17, 9:15 p.m.) will follow with a speech on “The power of the internet and social networks in shaping emotions, behaviors and perception of reality” and professor Claudio Corradetti (Porto peschereccio, July 21, 6:30 p.m.), professor of Political Philosophy, who will open us up to the world of Machiavelli’s “The Prince”. On Wednesday, July 31 (9:15 p.m.), Piazza Matteotti will host one of the greatest contemporary intellectuals, Marcello Veneziani. The event will close with Donatella Puliga (porto peschereccio, August 13, 6:30 p.m.), professor of Classical Civilization at the University of Siena, as well as an expert in world anthropology: she will present, within the “Festival del mare”, her book “I Greci, i Romani e il mare”. For the Councillor for Youth Policies Tombolini “the idea that guides the event is that of a high culture, not trivialized, that can permeate all the strata of society in the different places frequented (the squares first and foremost).
