Goffredo Palmeriniborn in L’Aquila in 1948, is a journalist and writer. He was a manager of the Ferrovie dello Stato in the commercial sector of the exercise. For almost thirty years administrator of the capital city of Abruzzo, he was several times councilor and deputy mayor of L’Aquila. He writes for newspapers and magazines in Italy and for the Italian press abroad. His articles have been published and are hosted in many newspapers in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic, Spain, United States, Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa, Uruguay and Venezuela. He is in the editorial staff of numerous newspapers in Italy and as a collaborator and correspondent for the Italian press abroad. He also collaborates with some Italian international agencies, magazines and cultural magazines.

For Journalism, winner of the XXXI International Emigration Award in 2007, he was then awarded, again for his journalistic activity: the Golden Zirè in 2008, the “Gaetano Scardocchia” International Award (2017) with Medal of the President of the Republic, the “Maria Grazia Cutuli” National Journalism Award (2017), the Journalism Award of the Year from the Italian Press Association in Brazil, the “Fontane di Roma” International Award (2018), the Italian Excellence Award and the Federico II International Award in 2021. In 2023 the Napoli Cultural Classic Award, in 2024 the Genius Loci Award in Rome and in Florence the Florence Seven Stars Award for Journalism. For many years he has carried out an intense activity with Italian communities around the world. A scholar of emigration, he is a member of the international scientific committee of the “Encyclopedic Dictionary of Italian Migrations in the World” (SER-Migrantes, Rome, 2014), for which he is also one of the authors. He is a member of prestigious cultural institutions, both in Italy and abroad.
